Gold lighting is having a moment — and for good reason. A gold crystal chandelier does something few fixtures can: it warms a room even before it's switched on, then throws genuine prismatic light once it is. This guide covers what "gold" actually means on a chandelier, how to size and hang one, where the look works, and our designers' favorite gold & crystal pieces for 2026.
One promise up front, because it's the whole point of Morsale: we describe every finish and material honestly. No solid-gold claims, no "crystal" that's really acrylic. What you read is what ships.
What "gold" really means on a chandelier
No modern chandelier is solid gold — it would weigh a fortune and cost one. Quality gold fixtures are gold electroplated or built on gold-plated stainless steel: a solid, durable metal frame finished with a real layer of gold for the color and sheen. That's how you get the warmth of gold at the price of a light fixture. You'll see three finishes:
Polished gold — bright, reflective, maximum glamour.
Brushed / matte gold — soft low-sheen, quieter and more modern.
Rose gold — a warm pink undertone, contemporary and distinctive.
Where a gold chandelier works
Over a dining table, gold is a natural fit — it reflects candlelight and warms the whole table. In an entry or stairwell, a gold crystal piece makes a first impression that reads as considered, not flashy. In a living room or primary bedroom, a smaller gold fixture or a pair of gold sconces adds warmth against neutral or dark walls, where gold especially sings. For the full room-by-room method, see our crystal chandelier dining-room guide.
Getting the size right
The quick rule: add your room's length + width in feet; that number in inches is a good chandelier diameter (a 12′ × 14′ room → ~26″). Over a table, size the fixture to about half to two-thirds the table width. Hang it so the bottom sits 30–36″ above the tabletop, or ~7 ft off the floor in open space. Full method in the chandelier size guide.

Gold Chandelier FAQs
Are gold chandeliers real gold?
No reputable modern fixture is solid gold — it would be impossibly heavy and priced far beyond any chandelier. Quality gold chandeliers use gold electroplating (or gold-plated stainless steel) over a solid metal frame, which gives the warm gold color and finish durably and affordably. Every gold fixture at Morsale is honestly described as gold-plated or gold electroplated.
Gold, brushed gold, or rose gold — what's the difference?
Polished gold is bright and reflective for maximum glamour. Brushed (or matte) gold has a soft, low-sheen finish that reads more understated and modern. Rose gold carries a warm pink undertone. All three are plated finishes; the choice is purely about the look you want.
What size gold chandelier do I need?
A common rule: add your room's length and width in feet, and that sum in inches is a good chandelier diameter — a 12′ × 14′ room suits roughly a 26″ fixture. Over a dining table, aim for a chandelier about half to two-thirds the table's width. See our
complete chandelier size guide for the full method.
How high should a gold chandelier hang?
In an open room, keep the bottom about 7 ft off the floor. Over a dining table, hang it 30–36″ above the tabletop so it lights the table without blocking sightlines. Add roughly 3″ of height for every foot of ceiling above 8 ft.
Does the crystal matter, or is it just for looks?
It matters. Genuine hand-cut crystal has a high refraction index, so it splits light into real prismatic sparkle that pressed glass and acrylic can't reproduce. Our gold chandeliers use genuine crystal — see
how to tell real crystal from acrylic.
Do gold crystal chandeliers work in modern interiors?
Yes. Gold has moved well beyond traditional rooms — a clean gold-plated frame with simple crystal geometry reads as warm and contemporary, especially against neutral or dark walls. The sputnik and linear styles in particular suit modern spaces.
Are the bulbs included, and are they dimmable?
Our gold crystal fixtures ship with LED bulbs included and are dimmable on a compatible dimmer, so you can take a room from bright and social to a soft evening glow. They run on universal 110–240V.
What about shipping, returns, and warranty?
Every order ships free and insured. Fixtures are covered by a 2-year warranty and backed by a 30-day return window. If a piece arrives damaged, we replace it.
